RE: like90 Swash Ball Mod
[link=http://www.helihobby.com/commonImages/swashBall.jpg]here[/link] is a brief description on how to do it. The ball gets installed from the top of the swashplate.

RE: like90 Swash Ball Mod
If you can remove the bearing out of the swashplate I would. Just to make sure you dont get shavings into the bearing. I had this happen once. I have had it were my ball would not fit down my shaft. Wow that sounds dirty. Yea I ended up busting my swashplate all up while trying to get it on. Thats when i went back to normal till my other 2 swashplates get here. I may have to sand my shaft a bit.

RE: like90 Swash Ball Mod
Thanks for your help all!
I know what you mean about the ball not fitting over the shaft. I had the same problem with the collar. I enlarged the collar hole ever so slightly. Not an option with the ball; too hard to enlarge the hole. The problem is that the metal aroud the hole in the main shaft is raised from the drilling process. I'll have to emery the main shaft around the hole.

It is a tight fit, but it does go on. I gently tapped mine on by holding the heli upside down and GENTLY tapping the main gear end of the main shaft with a piece of wood.

RE: like90 Swash Ball Mod
yea last time I did it. I ended up popping the ball out of the ball holder. Then after I got it back in the holder....I poped the whole holder out of the swash and i broke 3 ball links. I will try sanding down this time.
