Default Dragonfly Throttle Problem

Hi,

I have a FEDA Dragonfly and have occasional problem where I shut down the throttle and the Heli does not react or reacts after a couple of seconds - usually resulting in a crash. It's a Zhen Hau Tx. The aerial is fully extended and all other channels seem to react ok. Any ideas?

This might not be very constructive, but consider getting a new TX and RX... the shen hua sucks ****..

Had alot of probs with mine, and changed the TX, servos and the RX to the esky type... no probs since..

www.rc-expert.com will help You... i little more expensive than You might like but if You want it bad enough :/

$80 for the complete kit...

Sorry if i was of no help...

Thanks for the response - what brand of Tx, servos, Rx did you upgrade to? Futaba?

There might be some RFI around to cause it. The bad thing about PCM transmitter is that, if there's small RFI presence, you'll not notice it until it's too late. I did some testing on my helicopter on the ground with full throttle, the helicopter lost radio contact with my transmitter couple times. RFI presence and vibration from the main motor could cause the helicopter to lose radio contact the transmitter. I reduced the throttle to an idle, communication was established again between the helicopter and the transmitter. If the helicopter doesn't response, try to reduce the throttle, and it'll help you to regain control. Other thing you can do is to check the continunity of your receiver antenna. There might be some microscopic cracks on the solder joint between the antenna and receiver.

hope this'd help...

The testing you describle is pretty much what is happening - I'll check the antenna solder. Thanks for the advice.
