HOT ESC
Whenever I turn my radio on, the ESC gets EXtremely hot. I already lost a 40 dollar esc in this manner. what can the problem be, it cannot be that I have it connected to the receiver incorrectly otherwise it wouldnt work right? It is a 20 amp esc for e heli use. THX

Check to make sure the battery polarity is correct. Also, if there is a diode on the motor side of the controller make sure it's connected correctly. As you suspected if the connector to the rx is switched around it will not cause the problem you're having, it just won't work. Other than this I can't say what the problem might be.
