Just got this for Christmas and thought I'd share a couple of things that might help others. My son and I have been flying helis for a couple of years and noticed a couple of things that a beginner might not pick up on. Anyone else have any good suggestions for this model should feel free to point them out. Firstly, with the 8.4 volt Ni-Mh, you won't be able to fly this thing unless you start from the roof of your house. Don't do that. Get a 3 cell Lithium-polymer pack. We picked up a 1450 mah Li-po pack and it works fine. Shop around for the best deal. We noticed during the initial flight that it would spin up and just as it was getting light it would jump off the floor a couple of feet. We looked it over and noticed the swashplate would move a good deal during that last click on the collective/throttle stick just before this happened. We pulled the cover from the back of the radio and reversed the rachet that's up against the collective/throttle. This allows finer control of your collective. You will find this necessary. The next thing we noticed was the servo closest to the motor would jump around when we were near full throttle. Some troubleshooting showed this servo wire was routed around the main motor and was picking up RF noise creating interference. We easily pulled the wire away and solved that problem. We are now noticing the tail motor surging to maintain heading. We haven't decided on the proper adjustment for that but will experiment on the next flight and report what we find. It's a nice little heli and really a nice buy for a RTF setup. I know it isn't going to compete with some of the expensive electrics but then again, you can't buy those for what you can get one of these for. It is what it is. And we like that.
Oh yea, be sure to check your center of gravity before you try and lift off. Do this buy lining up the main blades with the tail boom / canopy and lifting the heli by the flybar. It should hang with the slightest amount of down pitch in it. The idea is that you don't want it to continuously drift backwards towards you when learning. And if you are a beginner, use the training gear of make some. You will need it when learning.

Oh ok. Creedmoor as in Creedmoor Rd. Yes Burgaw is just north of Wilmington. I fly with the club there. They'll get a kick out of this little ankle biter.

I have been wondering why this damn thing would take off. Mine came with an 8.4v battery and I have adjusted everything. All it will do is hop around and scoot on the ground. I will up grade to the 11.1v.

Cadi196,
Check this thread as well: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Esky...2466379/tm.htm
Even with the 3-cell li-po, sometimes it would peter around like it didn't have any motivation. Had plenty of head speed though. Check that thread for more info on what we did to correct it.
