Default DD Tail rotor less efficient?

Greetings. I got a GWS DD Tail setup working for my HB2. I toasted one motor by not breaking it in properly. However the second motor works quite well after a 30 minute 1.5-2.0volt break-in. The rudder control is very responsive now with the proportioning turned way dow. But, I've noticed my flight time is only about 15 minutes now, down from 20-30 minutes. Could there be that much loss from the DD Tail Rotor? Or maybe my main motor is on its last legs.

15min is plenty of flying time :-) ... do not run your heli for 20-30 minutes because you will burn out your motors (which you already have)... unless you have a "cool down" time in between

well, I dont run 20-30 mins straight. I stop periodically to let motors cool down. I'm talking about total in-air-time on a single 1000mah battery.

There is an efficiency loss if you are going from a larger, slow turning prop to a smaller fast turning prop.
So, yes, a dd 3x2 or 3x3 setup is less efficient that a stock geared setup.
