Default Aerohawk not responding

I posted this in the Beginners forum but it was suggested I also post it here.

I just received my Aerohawk today. I am defintely a newbie to R/C anything. Anyway, I have a Mode 2 Transmitter 35 mHz with throttle on left (the crystal on the transmitter and receiver on helicopter match). I turn on the transmitter (which shows good power) and then plug in the battery pack on the Aerohawk. The red LED lights up and then...nothing. It doesn't respond to any control movement whatsoever. I tested the main roter and tail rotor by plugging them directly to the battery pack and they both start spinning.

Is there any testing I can do? I don't know if the transmitter is transmitting and I don't know if the receiver is receiving.

On my Aerohawk, behind the pcb there are 7 rows of pins, 3 pins in each row. The top 4 rows have plugs in them and the wire colors for each row are as follows:
Orange/Red/Orange
Orange/Red/Orange
Black/Red/White
Black/White

Attached are two pictures, one of the receiver showing the rows of pins and the other showing the opposite side and the pcb board.

Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

Before powering the RX, try to leave the throttle stick at the lowest level and the rudder stick to the most left (or right if left does not work). My Aero-Hawk had a safety feature, and it is only initialized when the throttle is set at low and rudder set at left. Try again, and I hope it will work.

Tried moving the rudder as suggested before powering the RX but still no luck. Was that safety-feature mentioned in the "manual" at all? Or how did you hear about it? The manual that came with my Aerohawk was really lousy.

I owned an Aero-Hawk before, and it has that safety features. Well, if it does not work, then you have to trouble shoot the problem. Starting from the power supply to the voltage regulator on the board.

Oh, you may try to use a different RX/TX set. Mine came with a separate RX, and the combo board has gyro and speed controller. That may help. If your servos work okay, then the problem should be on the combo board. Well, let me know how it turns out. Good luck.
