I have a Trex with a hs-50 tail servo and helihobby zoom gyro. Whatever i do i cant seem to get the tail to be solid. My heli always wants to turn left. If i hold the right rudder a little i can hold it still. So then i put in some trim on my radio and it doesnt seem to do anything. My gyro setting seem to only be tail wag or turn left.
The servo i made another hole in the arm slightly lower than the first hole so that its closer to the servo. This seem to do nothing. I also noticed that the stock tail has alot of slop in it i can hold the to tail rotor blade tips and with very little pressure move the tail like the servo does.
do i have to make physical location servo changes to correct this?

Hi electric durango , i had the same problem , originally bought the trex with the align gyro what a piece of junk i try everything to fix the problem , finally i decided to fork out the money and buy the futaba gy401 gyro , now everyting is rock solid , and really a joy to hover and fly , well worth it , i know this advice does not fix your particular problem , but for me it did
good luck . Ed

I forgot to mention the hs 50 is nice but a little soft on the gears , witch i stripped when i was trying to dialled in the other gyro , so i also switch to the futaba s3103 , hope that helps . Ed

So I guess im stuck into buying and trying another gyro? 119.00 for a Futaba gy240 isnt really pocket change for me. Is the extra money worth buying a 401?
Also i have the Zoom gyro...which does look alot like the align gyro... Do you all know if im supposed to install the gyro on its side. My instructions say label up but many people have said almost all gyro instructions are wrong no matter what manufactuer. I tried it on its side because it looks so much like the align gyro (which has to mount on its side)

the gy240 is not a bad gyro but it takes a little tweeking to get it to work right , i decided to go with the 401 cause you can actually pyro easyier than the 240 and it s much easyer to set up .

We must find the error to fix the problem not just bandage it. Well, the problem is not mainly in the gyro, but it is in the tail. First of all, you have to modify the tail for slop free. All you have to do is to use a permanent marker to mark the internal area, where it connects to the shaft, of the tail blade holder. Reassembly the tail blade, and turn a few turns. Use Dremel tool or Xacto knife to cut off (little by little) the area that lost marker until it is free of slop. That would help the servo much easier of controlling. Currently, I am using Futaba G-155 mechanical gyro with sensing turned half way down, and my T-rex is still extreme stable when hovering.
