Default how to use pitch gauge

hi there just got pitch gauge for my hb2 6ch 3d
when you put it on the blades and zero throttle should the top of the gauge be level with the fly bar or how do i use it correctly to set up the pitch
thanks as any help will be great

Make sure your flybar is level. Then adjust the guage until the top is parallel with the flybar exactly. You can move your head up/down to get a better look. Once they are parallel, the indicated degree on the guage is the pitch.

Disconnect the motor. With 3D on, center the stick and set the pitch of the blades to 0 degrees. Then check 0 and full throttle. If you can measure < -10 for 0 and +10 for full throttle, you should be fine.

I use a small 2in level to level the flybar then hold to the pitch gauge.

I thought you were supposed to have enough positive pitch to hover at the stick center position... No?

It depends on whether you are setting it up for 3D or not. Just a basic setup you would set it to 0 degrees bottom stick, 7 degrees mid stick and 12 degrees full stick. 3D requires negative pitch, -12 degrees bottom stick 0 degrees mid stick and +12 degrees full stick.
