Default Direct or belt drive tail rotors

Well after all the problems everyone..and myself have had with burned out tail roter motors; is there a good electric chopper out there that uses a belt drive or a gear drive off the main motor? And if so is it a whole lot different to fly?

the trex, and the ark 400 both have belt drive tail rotors, and both are excellent elec heli's

also the shogun has a gear driven tail

and as far as being a whole lot different to fly what is it your comparing it to? if your comparing to a micro heli, yes they fly a heck of alot better.

The shogun uses a shaft driven tail rotor.

There are pros and cons to both.

The tail motor driven ones suffer from burning up and a little lack of tail authority. The advantage is that tail strikes usually dont do much.
The tail shaft driven ones will strip the gear if you get a good tail strike. There are upgrade metal gears though.

I have a T-rex and it's belt driven.. It's my first heli and I love it. Taught myself to fly it too!
