Default Newbie...Please help!

I have been doing alot of research, but cannot decide what heli to buy. I have never flown a heli in real life, but i have on sims. I think i need to start with a 4 channel, but need your input. If i was to get a 4 channel, would it have full forward, Back, Left, Right, and be able to pivot? (basically full function) Im looking for an indoor Heli that might be able to fly outside on a pretty calm day. Based on this info, i have a few in mind, but im not going to mention the names at this point as for i do not want a comparison, just your opinion on what the BEST Beginner Helicopter is? Thank you in advance.

Any cross-rotational helicopter is probably your best bet for a beginner. (XRB and Megatech housefly come to mind).

If you'd rather go the cheaper and albeit more difficult route, you can get Walkera #4's for a real steal off ebay and various websites, but they take alot of patience to learn. The good thing is, they take a real beating when crashed, and fly well once you learn how to master their quick movements.

i was thinking about the cross rotation, but forgot to mention it. Does it have full function? I just never understood how a cross rotation would go forward and back good. seem like it would always want to hold a hover. what are the functions of a cross rotation 4 channel? thanks.
