Second helicopter
Just mastered the Hirobo tethered indoor electric helicopter and now looking to go outdoors, untethered. Any recommendations? I think I’d like to stay fixed pitch for now.

RE: Second helicopter
i would go CP especially if you are taking it outdoors. it will be easier to fly than FP.
since you say you've mastered the hirobo, the obstacles during transition will be setting up CP and getting used to the extreme sensitivity of CP.

RE: Second helicopter
Fixed pitch birds will fly outdoors only with the slightest breeze-any gusts will send them straight into the nearest obstacle! The higher head speed of CP helis makes them more stable and able to handle some wind.

RE: Second helicopter
OK guys, valuable information. Glad I asked.
Any other information – things I should, things I shouldn’t be doing – will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Second helicopter
A normal micro heli will be less stable than the twin rotor Hirobo-a lot more control will be required.Just take it slow and don't try to fly the thing right out of the box-in most cases, balancing and trimming will be required to prevent the dreaded "death wobble".Get the best heli you can afford and take your time setting it up.
