Default Gyro Question

Do you recommend getting a digital tail servo and GY401 Gyro or a normal servo and the GY240. Is it worth the money to go alittle better and get DS mode. Or is it a waste. Im starting to save up for T-rex after I master my HB CP2. I dont need a champoinship gyro for i just like to fly and eventually go 3D.

O yea, can i use the GY401 with a non digital servo. Will it work if i dont use DS mode. Like will it work even if i want to go digital later.

Yep the 401, and pretty much any gyro capable of high-rate mode for digital servos, allows you to set it to normal rate mode so it won't bust your typical analog servo.

As far as the 401 goes...I can't help you there. People swear by them but I have also consistently heard JR's G500T gyro works better than the 401. It's slightly larger and a couple grams heavier and costs like $30 more, but it totally rocks the 401.

So I bought the 500T for my T-Rex XL. Setup was a breeze and now I'm just waiting on my Mega 16/15/3, external BEC and Hyperion E-Meter (all coming in this week!) so I can start bench-testing the heli!
