Have you tried reversing the throttle channel on your TX, or push to full throttle stick, pause, then bring it down slowly? It may be the ESC is seeing full throttle at low stick and won't start until it sees idle throttle signal, as a safety precaution.

Did you verify that the ESC is plugged into the correct channel on the RX?

Yes it is plugged into the correct channel. I got a twitch from the engine this time around.

Maybe your idle throttle signal isn't quite low enough. Did you try pushing the throttle trim tab all the way down?

We need to know what tx you are using. Futaba, JR or something programmable? Is your speed controller a tower pro or tower hobby? Two things to watch for. First is getting the tx throttle channel in the correct direction. You may have to reverse the throttle channel. Finding that out can be tricky. The best way is to not have the motor attached to anything. Just run it up on the bench and see which way it is turning before mounting it on the heli. If it is already on the heli and is a pita to remove, you can remove the pinion. If that is not practical then remove all of the rotor blades.

The second is getting the controller to arm so you can get it to turn the motor. Make sure your throttle lever and trim lever are all the way down. Then plug in the batt. If you get the beeping and no response from the motor then you need to try reversing the channel. If that does not arm the controller then you need to lower your subtrim for the throttle channel. If you do not have a means to lower your subtrim then you may need to get another controller or tx.

You need to get one with directions, then try reading them. I'm not sure what your problem was, I'm not sure you even had the right speed control, tower doesn't even sell a 30 amp brushless speed control.
