Well, I have been flying for about 3 weeks now, all of it inside my garage. I have become pretty good at hovering tail-in and started working on side-in and it's going well. Had the first day where the weather allowed me to get outside - gotta hate being in Oregon this time of year. It went very well, the wind in my backyard was swirling around a little bit but not too bad. I had to work a lot harder keeping it under control and in an area about 4' * 4'. As soon as I had that working well, I started to fly around the yard a bit. First was just hovering tail-in while I walked around in circles - this was a challenge with the wind coming from changing directions as I turned. Next I worked on standing on one side of the yard and just flying forward and backward, all tail in. These two sessions took up both batteries and went very well. After I recharged the batteries I went at it again. This time I tried some forward flight, but from side to side - also went pretty well. Next was flying from right to left and turning back to the right - also went well. I had a bit of trouble when I got to the right and decided to continue in a circle - got a little disoriented and had to set it down quickly. I think I'll just turn so it stays tail-in for a while.
Hopefully the weather will hold up for the weekend and I can try some more. I'll be way too bored in the garage now that I've been outside.
Sorry for the long winded post but I had to tell someone - and the wife doesn't really care...

LMAO Well at least your flying. The first time I took my Shogun V2 outside I couldn't get off the ground. Then after adjusting the pitch I went right up but unfortunately I came down a little to fast and tail first which ended in a tail strike [&o] Well I'm already to try again after making some sugested adjustments to my throttle curve and pitch curve. I can hardly wait to try again. Yes my girlfriend could careless too-it's a lonely hobby for sure.
