Thanks for the info. It looks like my swashplate is slanted to the rear. Whats the best way to adjust it to make it level?

Rdrunner, love the canopy!

Army21, Step 1 remove the main rotor blades (safety). Step 2 turn TX on and center both right stick trims then connect fully charged battery to the heli. Step 3 check to make sure servo arms are level, if not remove and reinstall in level position. Step 4 adjust swash plate linkage so the swash plate is level both side to side and front to back.

Yeah, army21 follow Bones' guide ... I am probably mistaken with the disconnecting the main motors.

MiniCwik and Army, disconnecting the main motor will work just as well as removing the main rotor blades. It is just a safety thing to keep you from getting smacked by the rotor while working on the heli in a power on condition.

I vote motor disconnect. If you take the mains off, then you still have the flybar to contend with.

Got in some outside flying yesterday, as it was so calm and did really well :-) flew from patio to one side of our lot, back to the other, to the back, and back to the patio a few times, I am so glad that I got a LiPo battery

I did notice an issue though, at times the heli just loses altitude down to the ground but hops back up, like when I am flying around away from me.

Is this normal?

Later I went into the basement and did some more fun flying, hovering, landing on objects, piro's and then had an incident where I landed too fast and cracked a blade good thing I have some on order (although I do have spares thanks to USHobbySupply.com!)

Still waiting on the flat blades and pinions, should arrive soon.

It's normal for any FP heli to lose attitude when you try and do anything but hover. I was out last Sunday buzzing around at I soccer field I found just a mile away from my house and I was already struggling for attitude control in some wind when a gust come (I was doing some circuits about 40 ft up) and pushed my lil Falcon to the ground where it bounced a couple times upon impact. I didn't add the sad smiley because nothing broke! I was amazed and super lucky to say the least. I love Super-Skids. I think I'll get a LiPo from Super-Skids next for my Falcon. I just got a Blue Point 6 in digital caliper and it really helps to use that to make sure everything is as it should be.

Awesome J-Cube ... 40 ft up? WOW!!!

Highest I have had mine is probably like 10-12ft, and that was last weekend when it was a bit gusty at times.

And this may sound silly, but what is a "circuit"?

What do you use the caliper for? I've always wanted to get one for those times when I lose a nut or bolt and do not know the size, just wonder what it is for on your heli?

MiniCwik, I got this digital caliper from www.HarborFreightusa.com part number 47257 $15.99. I love this thing, it will measure in metric or inches and will convert between the two with the push of a button. This thing is dead on accurate also. I am a machinist by trade so when I got mine i checked it against a set of precission ground gage blocks to make sure it was accurate. I use mine to make sure the fly bar is equal on both sides of the head, measure screw length, bearing diameters, CF rod diameter etc. I like it so much I hardly ever pull my set $100 Starret dail calipers out any more.

Cool Bones (thanks), I frequently get HF coupons in the mail and will have to go pick a caliper up there once I get another.

I'll be putting a new flybar on (mine is starting to peel) and either the stock blades or the new one's if they arrive today.

Circuit means like an oval/circle. Like a road race circuit track. It just means a circle flown/driven in laps.

My caliper cost me $60 but I think it's worth the price for what I got.

Sweet on the circuit, in that do you go nose/head-in and tail away?

I need to work on nose/head-in, probably more on the sim then on the heli ... I have gotten really good at tail-in flying.

I haven't quite perfected my nose-in while hovering yet. I can do it but not for long periods of time. My circuit was done going forward and then I gave it some left rudder to make the circle witch was good but still very sloppy when I got the courage to do it.
The wind was really hindering my flying capabilities. I think I'll get a 2S 7.4V 1300mAh 25C LiPo from Super-Skids. Should be fun. [8D]

J-Cube, sounds like your skills a progressing faster than mine. I am cursed with poor hand eye coordination. Hey but I have mastered tail in hover, just to chicken to flip the tail around and face that canopy. I need more sim time.

Ahhh okay, so I'm not the only one

That's the same battery that I have and I love it!!! I can fly what seems like forever, but when it starts wearing down I just put it away and charge it later because it drops off quicker (which I am sure you have read).

If you don't have a charger, the inexpensive E-Sky charger is great! I then picked up an A/C adapter for it from Radio Shack for about $25 and it's been really great!

My charger it valued at $155 lol. I have an ICE charger and an Equinox balancer and the 2S-6S high power tap/plug set. I can now charge anything I could ever want now or in the future.

MiniCwik, when I first started this I was thinking a month maybe two to learn how to fly. I have sense reconsidered and decided maybe 10 years. Hey but I refuse to quit and I am having fun. Good luck to all you heli pilots.

J-Cube, how do you like the ICE charger? I have been looking at it for about a month, just having a hard time seperating that much money from my wallet.

Oh I see J-cube, you are well prepared

Bones, yeah it's definitely not an easy thing to do ... just have to keep at it. I'm still learning and by no way am I an expert, I practice daily though, whether it be the sim or in the basement while the wifey showers.

I love flying this heli, that's for sure ... it's a great feeling to have it in the air and have control over it. I was trying to land on a small barstool last night in the basement and almost had it once but need to add the grips to my superskids, it slides all the time when I land on things I've gotten good at the correction to over-compensating.

I'm actually thinking of moving up to the 450 size class (for outdoor flight) soon.

I started flying since January 06. Never give up! Never surrender!

The ICE is an amazing charger. I highly recommend it. You will need the $80 Hobbico power supply to power it though ($200 total). You may also want to consider the Triton 2 (I think that's what it's called) and the MRC 989 Superbrain. I've heard good reviews on all of these but the best seems to come from the Superbrain fans. All these chargers do LiPo and NiMH so your set for all your heli needs with anyone of them. Btw, I have two ICE chargers hooked up to one power supply in parallel. [8D] It's the best E-Maxx set-up you could ever dream of. I haven't been on this thread for awhile because I started preparing to race buggies at my local dirt track. I'm actually thinking of getting an airplane next. A Slo-V for my B-Day (16th!!!!!) and a Fliton Mini Edge 540 when I have $1000 just lying around (and only if I enjoy the Slo-V so much that I want a bigger plane instead of a T-Rex).
