RE: How to Charge 8000mah LiPo Battery
Flasharino,
I'm gonna take a wild guess here, that you mean an 800 mAh battery and not 8000, same with the charger 500 mAh and not 5000.
To the point: You should never charge a lipo battery, more that it's rating. IE. An 800 mAh battery shouldn't be charge at a rate of 1 anp or 1000 mAh. You can charge the 800 mAh battery with the 500 mAh charger. It just takes longer. Example: A 500 mAh battery being charged with a 500 mAh charger will take 1 hour. So, you have an 800 battery and a 500 charger. It'll take about 1 1/2 hours to charge maximum time, this also depends on how low you drain the battery. If not alot, may 30 minutes.
Lipo batterys are very dangerous, never charge them over there rating.. There are no quick chargers for lipos to my knowledge.
Be safe with those batteries.

No - I mean 8000mah. It is BIG. I'd say almost the size of a brick. My charger goes up to 5000 and the battery is 8000mah - 8 AMPS.

Flasharino,
Holy Cow, what are you flying? That's a huge battery.. Must have cost a small forturne. However, the same principle I mentioned in my other post holds true. Just takes a longer time. That big a battery can be wickedly dangerous. Have you ever seen some to the videos on line wiht a lipo catching on fire or exploding. Search google for " lipo battery +fire ", don't use the quotes, but use the space after battery.

RE: How to Charge 8000mah LiPo Battery
That is severely overkill for an eco-8/16. You could get long flights just running a 4000 mAh pack. I hope you've got a serious motor to lift the weight of the 8000 mAh pack. I used to run my eco-8 on 3200 NIMH's and I got around 10 to 12 minutes of flight.
At any rate, to answer the question, the packs mAh rating does not matter to the charger. You can charge the 8000 mAh pack at 5 amps, it just means it will take twice as long vs charging at 8 amps.
If your charger could charge at 8 amps, then the pack would take roughly 1 hour to charge. Since your charger will only do 5 amps, you're looking at probably closer to 2 hours.

Jeez what a MONSTER LiPo. Like others have responded: treat it carefully! If I had such a super battery I would go for an equally top-of-the-line charger. Consult the homepage of
http://www.schulze-elektronik-gmbh.de/
They make super LiPo chargers.
