for the cost i prefer the belt cp, it's $200 shipped and it's rtf (still needs some set up like all rtf but comes fully assembled). the biggest difference is the mx400 pro has an aluminum frame, belt cp is plastic.

weight wise the difference is nothing really. as far as i'm concerned unless you're getting something like a trex 450 or mini titan e325, it really just comes down to price. how much was the mx400 pro you were looking at? what does it come with?

The sad but funny part of it is if you stuff it, your choice is a bent boom on the MX or a broken one on the Belt. Either way, you'll need to replace it. The Belt CP is a more logical choice.

why would the belt cp one be broken? both the mx400 and belt cp have aluminum tail booms. I've had blade strikes, no major crashes yet, on the belt cp and just left a slight dent.

yep, there is a carbon fiber boom upgrade for the belt cp but in reality the boom is the same size as the trex so you can use the esky one, trex one or one from any trex clone.

the gyro will be fine. if you're gettting the mx400 pro as a trade then go for it. it's a fine heli. if this is your first then make sure to go through radd's school of rotory flight and if you have access to anyone who knows heli's ask them to check the mechanical set up.

Are the instructions that come with the gyro sufficient to get it installed and get tuned in good enough to get started. This is not my first just my first CP,I have had the cx for a while and getting bored with it.I have also flown fixed wing for about 5 years, and I understand they are not the same but it does loosen your thumbs if you know what I mean....I am going to just take my time with the heli because parts get expensive

there really isn't that much in the way of instructions for gyros like this. there are only two adjustments, gain and nor/rev switch. if the heli is spinning in circles and won't stop then the nor/rev switch is probably on the wrong setting. the gain will determine how well the tail holds, over 50% is hh, under is rate mode. turn the gain up until you notice the tail hunting (moving back and forth quickly) then move the gain down a bit. keep adjusting until it's at the best spot to hold but not hunting. you must unplug and replug the battery in every time you make an adjustment to the gyro in order for the change to take hold.
