drilling holes and tapping them in the tail blade grips, then adding 4 servo linkage steel balls.

if you go to helifreak and do a search for it and or chineese weight mod or firups weight mod

Pretty decent for 6 months. You were running a little too much gain that day, if you don't already know, as the tail pitch can be heard oscillating at times. How many minutes do you get before you hear the ESC pulse the power?

i would really like to do the mod. but i still don't get it. where do i buy the parts needed and how do i do it? it seems like all the pros are doing this mod.
And why on god's green earth havn't the manufactuers implemented this design into their helis?

If your 450SA is using the stock plastic tail assembly, it doesn't require the mod.

Model helicopters haven't evolved enough to be perfect just yet. Control feedback on the tail due to centrifugal force is an area that will surely get more attention by the kit designers in the near future, now that the Chinese weight mod has become common knowledge.

321 the gain is fine any lower and the tail blows out with hard collective. i normaly get 4:30 flying and leaving plenty left in the lipo. apparently it was not fully charged before the flight as thats i believe what you can hear at the end of my vid. the esc was cutting out rite at %20 left in the lipo [ i set it that way for lipo longevity].

noob there are company,s making tail blade grips with weights built in. like 321 says they dont have this stuff perfect thats are job lol

thanks for the heads up 321. i do have the trexsev2 metal gear case and metal tail rotor grips (uninstalled) all i need is the tail slider that broke during the last crash. i also have the metal head for my trex that is ready for install. i didn't install these items yet cause i see no reason to yet. but if doing this mod makes my trexsa fly better than i will defintely install them.

keven at helifreak [fireup] sells the kit if you have a metal tail. the kit comes with a jig for the drilling, a tap and a drill bit for $20 shipped. the mod is a must when you get into hard collective while in reverse flight. my tail would blow out in hard reverse loops but now its rock solid and i can get away with murder on the sticks lol. its almost exactly like flying my sim now. if i can do it on the sim my heli will do it that day just the same.

thanks SR. this will be my next project then. i will order the parts and work on it. the cool part is that i already have the metal tail uninstalled and it won't affect my fly time with the rtf trex.. see....those extra parts are paying off.
