I just bought one of these kits and I just wanted to find out if anyone has finished one and flown it. Were there any problems with it and were there any changes made from the recommended set-up? I would appreciate your input. Thanks. Chris

I have one and I just maidened it last weekend. The thing flies great. Not overly fast but very stable and honest.

As for construction, the only real problem I had was a very tight fit of the wing spars when trying to insert them into the wings. A little bit of sanding and trial-fitting took care of that.

What fan, motor and battery are you going to use?

I used the Hobby-Lobby recommended setup:

Speed 480 Race
Vasafan 65/1G
10 x cp1300's

Do you mean the FW TA183 Huckebien?

If so, no, the wings or tail won't come off after they are installed. (They're glued on.)

A simple modification to the fuselage can be done to make the fan accesible.

Here it is (from the Alfa website) Note the drilled and tapped lugs and screw holes. I would recommend nylon screws as they won't vibrate loose.

That model was powered by a MPJet 25/25-26 Mk 2 Brushless drawing from a 3 cell Lipoly.

Not many models around that can take off from the ground without wheels!!!

The TA183 can be retrofitted with the same motor which will liven up the model's performance.

Actually was asking about the Klien Aplha Jet.

I have sence got the ARF kit.
It too is designed to have the horizontal stabalizer permenantly glued on.
