Powerful EDF conversions anybody?
Hey anybody who flys edf jets. I need a powerful edf conversion that can fit a 64mm airfield f-15 i bought from Nitroplanes.com a while ago. It comes standard with a 11.1v 3s 1300mah 20c lipo and a 4100 kv motor and a 30a esc. I need a upgrade. They have been wearing out and the jet is barley able to sustain full throotle flight. I was thinking about replacing it with a 60a esc but I don't know what battery voltage/mah/c and what motor kv it should be. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

The Lander units are very good. You'll need to upgrade to 4S batteries and a bigger ESC.

I wouldnt go by the figures quoted on that link, 950g thrust at 37A on 3 cells, impossible. Lander quote 760g on 3 cells but they dont tell you the amp draw, could be 37A...
The GWS EDF64 with a good 2445-3800Kv style motor will produce 680 grams thrust on 3 cells at only 23-25 amps, and 1100 grams thrust on 4 cells at 38 amps. This sort of setup allows you to use quality 1800mah 3s packs for light weight, or 2200 4s packs for high power to weight.
Forhotter 64mm setups you could look at our Extreme CNC Alloy 64mm fan unit. Runs a custom German made Wemotec rotor and on 4 cells it runs around 950 watts for 1.4kg thrust, I fly this setup in an A-RC Vector jet with 2600mah4s45c packs and it screams. You can go much hotter than this, 6 cells and 2kg thrust but it increases flying weight too much, the 4 cell setup has the nicest balance of flight characteristics and speed.

I'm running the Lander unit on a 60 amp esc on 4s. 80 would also work. Knowing what your F-15 weighs would help as far as selecting a fan/motor combo.

It comes stock with a 2627-4100kv motor. Could i just keep using the same motor but upgrade to a 60 amp esc and a 4s 2200mah 30c battery?
