Default Rocks and EDFS don't mix....

This is what happened when my FMS f-18's EDF exploded on takeoff roll when a small rock(supposedly, it might have been structural failure as the blade unit was rather old.....) got flicked into the intake with the throttle at max RPM. (pictures attached) I have to say, it looked rather spectacular speeding down the runway with shards of blade flying out the back! Luckily, No damage to the plane as it had only just started to pick up speed.

My old HET "F18" with very low intakes use to suffer a lot injecting kangaroo poo while taking off and spewing it out full blast with incredible sound but never managed to brake impeller.
