RE: Depron Airbus A-300 Airliner - EDF-50/300 powered
Well the first flight had a major problem. Too much wind and the tailerons being the only flight controls just weren't enough to counteract a nasty gust that caught and carried the Airbus to a pretty bad crash. The nose and tail sections and all the radio gear, motors, lipo pack all came out useable. So I hope to have her finished and rebuilt by the end of my weekend starting tomorrow.
American would look nice yes, but I'm probably going to go with something that uses a white fuselage just to make it simple. I will paint the wings and tail feathers though.
Gotta get a few good flights in first though before painting starts. My 2nd version has large ailerons so I won't have a problem like the last time. The fuselage is so large in diameter that the plane lifted off the runway MUCH sooner than I thought it would!! So that's good in a way.
More to come.
Hey Jermaine Allen, if you are still around, how's it going? Haven't heard from you in a long long time but wanted to let you know there's a guy named Gimli selling B737 kits over in the Ezone. I have one on order and it should be here soon and it's a proven good flyer. He did a really nice job with it and also I think he's gearing up to sell Airbus A340's as well.

Well the Airbus is rebuilt now, this time with the addition of ailerons (flaperons) and added rudder control as well. The next flight should go well! Hope to fly near the end of the week (around Friday) when the rain leaves the area.

The wings are from a Lifelike B757 foamie glider. On the C-5 I'm working on I'm going to build some depron wings.

Guys,
Tailerons Dont work too well with the short "Arm". It works better for fighters that have engines between the Horizontal stabs. On those Wings from that 757 wannabe thingy, I have found that roll control spoilers work excellent!!
Otherwise, Great work Hawker !!

Yeah, it should go welll with the ailerons (flaperons really). It's ready to go and hopefully today will be the day. I just got off a 12 hour
night shift and need to get some sleep, but I hope to fly it this afternoon. Hopefully the winds won't be too bad at that time.
I put the EDF-55's back on it and with a fresh 9.6V Hecell NimH pack I get 12 oz of thrust initially that settles into 10.25 ozs continuous,
with a new AUW of 24 ozs. It should do fine in this configuration. We'll see, hopefully today.
