I would only buy GWS with no engines and just add hop ups . There simply not worth the effort in there stock form .
I have the A10 with the ED55s , with a lipo 3 cell 2100 , made major mods to the front end to allow the battery to sit under the nose .
Installed the speed control before the fuse was glued to allow it to sit far forward .
Other mods included , a "Y" bent wire to attached the elevators at the outer edge so they could not flex under higher speed .
Also add cardboard stock to the control horns , agian for reduces flex that I notice in my first model .

I wouldn't pre-judge the new ones based on the A10 , it has it's faults like most , I think the new one's will be avalible bare--minus motors ect

Scott Black F-86. fiberglass fuse, 500-600 watts required, very close to true scale, flys very well if you like high performance. Kit price was $250

He has an email address, you can try him there. Tthere also is a construction thread on the rc groups forum in the jets section. Do a search for F-86 or Scott Black.

There is another model I would like to add to the mix, the new HET-RC F-20 Tigershark. The first production shipments should be available from the vendors within the next two and a half to three weeks. Better yet, the target pricing is still around $125-135 for the ARF...a good thing for Minifan 480 fliers. You can see my report here:

FYI...mine was radar gunned in at 109mph on a fly by today!

I have these 2 the Hobby Lobby Rafale and the Exceed F35 The Rafale flys ok but is a bit underpowered stock. The Exceed F35 is a Rocket flys just fine at half throttle goes about 95 at full throttle probably 100 in a dive.

Rafale is on the Right F35 on the left. http://www.hobby-lobby.com/rafale.htm
Flight Video F35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcKVs62aKKc
Ive updated this since I first posted I Upgraded the Exceed F35 with 2 servos added to the tail control surfaces. The serperate elevator control Made this plane go from Good to Excellent. It just takes some getting used to. You have to push the nose down to land it to maintain some airspeed. It went from difficult to land to easy after the upgrade. Its stable even in 15 MPH winds now. Great Plane. One negative is the Radio that comes with it is not even good enough for this plane I just shelved it. So if you decide to buy one just get it minus the Radio Equipment and use your own. Im using an old Spektrum DX6 and this thing ROCKS.

A lot has changed and been introduced from the start of this post .
Bannana hobby has a ton of new intros including the SR71 Blackbird , F117 stealth fighter ect .
According to "real" feedback these planes are top performers and out of the box very complete for the money

check out this flight video Nitroplanes F35 lightning II Jetscreamers little screamer motor. 3s 1800mah li po 25c 11.1 volts TX is set to 70% throttle max. Have to find a edf impeller that can take the strain the fan blade blew apart on the next flight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KRrk7sY4i4

Pretty wide open so I'm easily going with the Phase 3 F-16 from HobbyPeople.net
Airframe = $49
Dons RC Wicked 5400KV Outrunner = $51
Pentium 40 ESC with BEC = $40
Hard to beat 100mph for $140
The plane flies incredibly well.
