Default Midifan Cooling Question

I have the Aeronaut Panther. I have decided for cost reasons to use the Midifan. If I use a 600 size brushless as recommended ,how do i provide for cooling as there is allmost no room for airflow around the motor casing. 1 to 2 mm in most cases. I want to operate around 1000/1100 watts so heat build up is a major concern.Since the fan is not carbon fiber the temp could deform the motor mount. Should I downsize to say the Kontronic 500-19 and would it operate in this range? What do you guys think??? "The Bates"

Default RE: Midifan Cooling Question

In my Panther I'm using a Hacker B50-15L on a 6S3P LiPo pack(960 WATTs). No cooling for the Midi fan. So far no problems. I keep flight time down to 6 mins per flight. Never heard of a Midi fan melting for motor heat. Just remember to support the back of the motor in the fan.
Mine flights like a rocket. See http://www.rcgroups.com/gallery/sho...&cat=500&page=1
