Default Depron T-38

I recently bought and built and flew a few times a t-38 from 3dfoamy. It flies, but as my wife says "it looks like a boat". I have a hyperion 3800kv brushless motor geared 2.8 to 1 on a 8x6 prop, and I ahve experiemented with 9x7.5 prop. 1250 mah Kokam battery.

It rolls good but doesn't go that fast. What are some good ideas to get *** to fly better. Wouldn't a direct drive high rpm brushless be better with a small prop. Or would the frame take that speed?

It doesn't look like a boat, it looks great, it flies like a boat. But I did say "looks like". Thanks, Ive put an outrunner brushless on it and will try it when it stops raining. Thanks for the input.

I use a Himax 2015-5400 and the c-drive gearing, 25 amp Pheonix ESC, 9 X 7 prop, Apogee 1570 3-cell. Vertical is out of sight. 10 to 15 min flights depending on throttle of course.
