What setup feels most like a turbine jet a pusher or puller prop. What gives the best preformance. I am flying a junorc f-18 with a os.91 heli engine with 30% nitro i have'nt finished it yet because of the engine situation. I can't afford to buy a turbine but i want my plane to fell as close to one as possible. thanks raptorhelis

A pusher prop will most simulate a "jet" aircraft. This due to the lack of prop blastover the surfaces. A prop driven "jet" will have better accelleration due to higher thrust, if power values are equal. But the ducted fan will usually have higher speeds. There is a point where a prop can act as a brake, if the airframe is cabable of faster speeds than the pitch speed of the prop. Because you posted in the electric forum, I cannot help you on I.C. moter choice and prop values.
But, a good thing to remember is, if you prop for high maximum speed with the power available(expl: smaller diameter/higher pitch) this detracts from thrust/acceleration. If your plane is designed for turbine, it may not like slow flight very well without flaps and other slow flight scale additions. For this reason, safer flight may be had as a "puller" installation. There are many more variables here for success. Good luck to you.

Right on the button St. Martin.
If you go with a prop on the nose, you should have all the instant torque and acceleration you need to do any takeoff, landing or flight stunt. Build in the internal ducting!!!! Leave it smooth. Air in. Air out.
Mount 2 whistles. 1 in each duct at the END of the duct where you can change them.
I saw a fantastic sounding twin with the balls removed and the whistles at the correct angle.
I will do the same on my twin if the fans are not loud enough.
There are little projects for any plane to make it exceptional.
Test the whistles from a moving car. safe and quick. [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]
EDITED; As you get the money, you can always put in a true fan unit or turbine later.
Build the plane NOW as if you had both to use. Put in all the mounts and hatches.
It will happen. Meantime you are getting flight time on a great trainer.
You will get away with MURDER, using a prop. Enjoy the plane flying. [sm=thumbup.gif]

Ducted fan would be my first reccomendation only because I owned a cheap RC jet that had one and it just felt like a jet compared to traditional airplanes I've flown in the past, it does make sense, air in air out. This is not exactly saying, pusher or puller "tractor" and if you are in a spot where you have only those options, I have to agree based upon it all, the pusher is the way to go if that is really the question.
Adding the whistle, now that is a killer idea, who ever came up with that one was just plain smart.
