Default DCU MIG-15 build

Starting a build of a DCU MIG-15. This is going to be old school ducted fan build. Kit was made in 1992. Power will be 15+ year old new in the box K&B 7.5 front rotor rear exhaust. Turbax I fan. Got this kit in a trade on RCU. My hat is off to Mark Hambilton and his associates who built this kit. Very scale. Glass work is very good. This kit came with everything you could imagine. Plane has 50" wingspan. Weight about 8lbs. Talked with Larry Wolf at JHH about the FAI retracts. Going to install the scale flaps. Undecided about the wheel brakes tho. Also have a Knights of the Air/Top Gun MIG-25 that will be next build. Maybe splash that MIG-25 so I can make other copies of that kit as it is very nice and unusual plane to model. Put a Dynamax and an OS .91VR-DF in that one to make it Really move. Anyone know where I can get a set of plans for the Knights of the Air/Top Gun MIG-25?

Default RE: DCU MIG-15 build

You may want to ditch that engine and either get one of the newer versions or go EDF. The one you have is very finnicky and without 40% nitro will not give you decent performance. Only go this way if you really want to feel like you are a part of DF history (and the pains that went along with it). The Mig though, does not need flaps or brakes. It will fly great as a simple build.
