Kyosho F-16 Upgrade?
I have an unbuilt Kyosho F-16 and I'm planning to upgrade to brushless right away. Does anyone have any experience / recommendations on a proven set-up? I've also read that it might be wise to upgrade the ducted fan as well....
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

RE: Kyosho F-16 Upgrade?
The F16 uses the same fan as the Kyosho T33. One very successful upgrade with that draggy airframe was to use either a MEGA 16/15/2 or HET Typhoon 2W. They are drop in replacements, using a CC45 amp ESC and a 6 cell NimH pack.
The T33's AUW dropped to ~32 oz and flew much better. That particular airframe responded better to weight reduction than to raw power increases. The end result is the same. Thrust to weight ratio increased, easier launch, better acceleration.

Is there an advantage/disadvantage to using Li-pos instead of NimH? I assume the weight reduction would improve performance, but will there be an issue with the CG?

RE: Kyosho F-16 Upgrade?
Don't know about balancing the F16 but the lighter weight lipo's posed a problem with the T33. Even going to the lighter (than NiCd's) NimH's required lengthening the front end by 1.5" to maintain the balance.
