Default Most powerful setup for E-Flite Superliner?

Can anyone please suggest what kind of setup I need to produce a very powerful E-flite Superairliner? I am about to order the plane and would like to make it powerful so I won't have to later. Thanks if you can help!

If you sheet the wings and put in some carbon spars you can use some hot gas motors, that would get you going!!!

Seriously it looks like the motors are the slow part, I don't know for sure that they would fit but I would go with an inrunner like the Mega 16/15/2 here: http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=3191

Shaft size is different so you'll need to mod the fan a little.

You'll have to use bigger controllers but it'll give you 4600 rpm per volt over 3500 for the e-flites, over 30% more speed. My recommendation would be buy the kit make your measurements and then buy motors, speed controllers and the biggest 3S LiPo's you can.

There are Hi Maxx'es that would work well too.

And then tell us how she flew....

Hey Evan! Thank you very much for that info. I appreciate it. I was doing some research and found that there is a RC guy named Bruff that did this hi-performance thing to his superairliner. HE gave me a list of mods he did so it should be interesting. Since I am a beginner, I am wondering if I should keep things stock for now until I can control the plane easily and then go for the heavy stuff. Do you think this is the way to go?

Thanks!

The E-Flite site lists their recommendations, they do sound very good and would be guarateed to fit right. It would be a great start. When you start modifying you'll find you change one thing that causes another thing to need to be changed that causes another thing to need to be changed that causes another thing to need to be changed that causes another thing to need to be changed that causes another thing to need to be changed that causes....

An easy way to get more power out of any set up is to add a cell to your battery pack(s), just be carefull because you can burn things up if you keep the throttle up for long periods.

I have 2 and did not use any of the E-Flight motors on them.
I used these motors on one and they have a bit more power than the E-Flight at about 1/2 the price. Plus I went with 30 amp ESC's on both jets. http://www.happitoy.com/book.php?bookid=1681 I use the 3 blade set up with these motors. Now the 2nd one has these motors in it http://shop.eflypower.com/shop/views.asp?hw_id=1108 and I use a 6 blade set up and take off from a grass runway no problem and these are also 1/2 the price of the E-Flight motors. I like the 2nd set of motors the best as they are 3800 Kv just make sure your battery packs can put out 30 amps min.

I have those same MAXII 400-3800kv motors. They fit the EDF fans in the airliner without modification since the motor shafts are the same size. I put the MAXII motors in SF 68mm fans and this was the static results on test stand.
MAXII 3800 on SF 68mm 6-blade fan using 1 x 2100 TP 3s batt.
AMPS: 30.3
WATTS: 301
THRUST: 500grams

This was without the front curved part affixed to the fan housing.
