Default Synapse Ducted Fan issue

The ducted fan part of the motor has removed itself. I say itself because I did not take it off. Just kind of flew off during a throttle test.

The Instructions look as if this brass part is not "supposed" to come off. I see the 2 grub screws but have no idea how to tighten them to the motor shaft without drilling though the fan shroud. Anyone?

The same thing just happened to my friends this weekend (only 3 flights on it) He did proper break in per instruction book.
The only way I can see to get to those screw is to drill a hole thru the case then plug with hot glue or epoxy after you've reinstalled the motor. We were thinking of grinding a flat spot on the shaft to help prevent future happenings.

Drill a small hole big enough for the proper allen wrench, dab on a little locktite, and install. If you can file a flat spot on the motor shaft, I would definately do that.

You shouldnt need to plug the hole. If you do, do it from the outside of teh case with tape.

I thought of that myself but it just seemed wrong. Going to get the drill. Thanks!
