Default Problem with fan... Please help

I just got a HET 6904, and am installing the fan as the instructions say and everytime I got to tighten the fan it starts rubbing the house but is free spinning without tightening. Any idea's on how to fix this?

You might concider useing a very thin washer between your motor and the housing so as to anle the axle away from the area that is hitting the shroud. In a sense you will be changing the motors alignment. Hope this makes sence. Ive don this in the past and it works fine. You also might be over tightening one screw. This would have the same effect.

I tried the washer and also tightening a screw and it helped a little but still a light scrub. Is it ok to sand the inside of he shroud to provide the clearance. I think it will only require about 20 thousands of an inch to clear.

i dont know If I would go that far as to sand it. But I do know that if you run it with the fan rubbing against it, it will NOT were away and solve your problem. The fan blades will melt and stick to the sidewall very quickly and burn out your motor. So what ever it is you had better fix it. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

Regards

I got it fixed by loosening the rotor bolt and rotating the rotor on the shaft about 10 degree's at a time and eventually it just stopped rubbing if that makes any sense .

ok, talk with EJF and they said to charge the battery with out the balance connector plugged in and just restart it each time it kicks off. basically babying the charge back into the cells. I tried it and it worked at 50% charge i connected the balancer and each cell charged perfectly.
