Totaled my Eflite F-16 on 1st flight need replacement any suggestions?
Crashed my eflite f-16 on the first flight, can anyone recommend a good or better replacement for it, any suggestions appreciated, I just ordered my hyperion Y-22l 5000kv today and would like to use it on a project and keep my 3s 2100-2200mah lipos and 30amp ESC, what other companies make nice foam EDFS

The Phase 3 F-16 is next on my build list (from Hobby People - hobbypeople.net). I'm also waiting for my RC Lander F-16 to arrive (ships on 10DEC) from Electric Jet Factory. I'd say go with the Phase 3, as it seems to be a quite popular EDF to build/mod. Another good resource for info is the similar section (Foamy EDFs) on RCGroups.

check out www.hobby-lobby.com they have a lot of edf jets two F-16 The Blue Angel F-18 they have is very nice to

I noticed the Phase three had stabilators with elevon mixing, and the Eflite f16 has ailerons and elevators, which handles better and why. And also why couldn't you use elevon mixing on the Eflite 16 for better maneuverability?

I have 10 flights on a Global Phase 3 F-16 and I love it. Comes with fan/motor/esc. Your lipos will be just right for it. Only needs 2 servos. And it's only $99 from Tower or Hobby People

I am trying to hold out for the SAPAC America F-16 which is supposed to be out in January.

like the Phase 3 it has flyable tailplanes. The deal they are running for the Phase 3 is making me itchy to pull the trigger before January.

do those have the 70mm fan unit?. 3 weeks ago i bought the hobby lobby A7 corsair... i had problems with what i thought was the esc so i did not fly it. the battery that came with it went bad only after one workbench test run so i thought that was the problem. i contacted HL and they sent me a new one. last weekend i got the new battery and everything seemed fine until several seconds into first flight the motor fan unit started surging badly and then just quit and the model stalled and went into the ground smashing the nose to pieces. later on the workbench it was still doing that. if you look closely on the esc it shows its a 45 amp 2-3 cell lipo esc. the battery that comes with the A7 is a 2200mah 4s 14.8 volt battery. i ask HL about the esc. HL admitted they have had a few complaints about the esc's and some these modelers replaced the esc's and still had the same problem. so HL believe's it might be a rare motor problem. now before i get bashed for posting this,...i decided to blow this off thinking i just got a bad one until i found out that one of flying buddies bought the F5... yes,same problems. yes,yes...HL sells good products but "reiserrob' might to hold off from one these for now.

sorry about your crash. i just bought the f9 panther from hobby lobby. awesome quality.....and if flys like a dream. very stable, good power, etc. it might not be the barn burner you are looking for but it flys great! good luck on your replacement......rob

A couple more questions, Does the Eflite F-16 and the Phase three share the same size fan unit and will the Phase three also hold a 3S-2100 or 2200? Also, how fast or how much faster do you think the Hobby Lobby 70mm EDF jets w/4S are faster than the Phase three or Eflite?

Sorry for your loss! Hope (at least) it was spectacular!! Not sure about the E-Flite but the Phase 3 uses a 55mm fan. I know that stock, the Phase 3 is much faster! My P 3 isn't stock, it runs just over 100mph. Stock should be about 70 -80mph. It flys great! No lack of control! Very light, and you just can't beat the $99 deal they are offering now till Dec 31st with fan, motor, and speed control! One of my friends has the E-Flite and we fly them together! His is ALOT slower, a bit under powered, but still flies OK after you get it up and moving! Check out the thread PHASE 3 EF-16! Lots of info there! Good luck!
