Default Phase 3 EF-16 ARF

These are pics of my Phase 3 EF-16 . It's using stock ESC & Motor, 2 Hi-Tech HS-55 micro servos, and the Spektrum AR6100 receiver. I hand painted it with a water based, high gloss latex. I thought it came out pretty good. Very easy to build. Going to cover the bottom with a clear chassis protector, install Rare Earth Magnets to hold the canopy in place(it comes with a sliding lock witout a spring), and add chrome striping to the bottom so I have a better chance of not crashing...not saying I won't but it's a better chance not to anyway! Let me know what you think and any other pointers will help!
Aloha From Hawaii!

Excellent paint job, is that Latex you get at a home repair like Lowe's or Home Repo?

Yes that is a water based latex that I picked up from a local hardware store here. Took a couple coats, but worth the effort! Thanks for the compliment!

Hi All,

You might check these Screw Mounts and Cheater Hole Support out if you like being able to service the motor compartment of your P3 F-16.

no I haven't flown it yet, weather has been very uncooperative, I'm going to get a seasoned pilot to test flight it for me and trim it out, That way I don't have a repeat of the first F-16 I owned

DUmp the stock ESC and go to Don's RC and get a 40 or 60 amp pentium. I would not run that stock ESC on anything except a cheap foamy 3D plane. All my buddys have replaced them.. It gets hot even at 18 amps on a Stiffy...

I finished mine last weekend and have put about 10 sucesfull flights on it so far... really a pretty cool jet...

I went for something similar to the Alaska Air Defense squadron:

I read alot of threads, but mostly I flew one at winnamac last year with the stock motor and stock controller. It was quite hot after a 3S flight, and really hot after a conservative 4S . I switched to a Dons wicked motor, so I had to switch 41 amps at 540 watts on a 4S.

I just dont trust the controller. I have it on a 3s Stiffy with a 400 on it and it gets too hot for my comfort at 18 amps.

I suppose you will be ok if you run everything stock on a 3S likely in all fairness.

Just maidened my f-16 today and all i can say is WOWThis is now my favorite bird!! Im running sto esc, fan unit, motor, with HS-55 servos and a AR6100,eflight 20c 1800 mah lipo and dx6i Tx.
