Alfa Models A-4
Hi everyone,
I'm looking on getting some recommendations on the the ESC that Hobby lobby is suggesting. They are say the JETI Spin 22 amp ESC (84.00 dollars) due to the selectable timing, but it seems kind of expensive. I'm wondering if any has any suitable replacements that are cheaper and have selectable timing (which I'm assuming is something that I have to program). Yes I'm new to edf. I would appreciate any build suggestions or opinions of the plane if anyone has any.
Thanks
Fowcat

Any 25, or 40 amp ESC will do. If you get a cheap 25 that has no extra reserve it will run hot.

There are many more if you know where to look. Who do you regularly order from? Some have no programable timing but to be honest yo udon't really need it. The Turnigy Plush series from China are really good fully programable ESCs for the best price.

RE: Alfa Models A-4
The best combo for the money is the following: Go to www.Donsrc.com and buy the Dons Wicked extreme motor to run on 3S with the 5 blade rotor @ 47,000 rpm. The motor is $60.00 with bushing. Then buy Dons Pentium 40 amp ESC for $40. Buy an 1800 mah 3S Zippy pack Lipo for $18 plus $5.59 shipping direct from China. You are now good to go. The Alpha A-4 will balance perfectly with this setup.
