I'm flying a GWS Me-262 with Ammo motors and Eflite ESC's w/2350 mA 3S LiPo. Flew once today (1st flight ) with no problems.
As I taxied out and revved motors to take off, bang something came out the back end of one engine pod. Examination showed
that one blade was broken off one of the rotors. After consideration, I cut 2 more blades off that rotor and took three off the other one.
Taxied out and took off and flew as before, third flight was the same way. I have thrown blades off both the black and orange colored
units but have no clue as to why. These are stock GWS 6 bladed rotors for the 64 mm fan unit. I have not attempted to balance these as
the blades look fragile and thin to boot. Any thoughts as to why this is happening. I fly from a paved runway but don't think I'm ingesting
anything but I guess it's possible.

Anyone having this problem, it seems to be occuring at an unsustainable rate..I have replaced these rotors on an almost weekly basis....I was flying last Thursday, landed and picked up my plane to put it back on a table and someone says did you notice that you're missing a blade on that motor. It must have come off while flying.
That evening I replaced the rotor and set it up til next time. Today, I took it out, got one god flight and on the second flight, hear a thunk come out of the plane. Landed right away and sure enough another blade was thrown. The blades are not scrapping or hitting the duct, as I checked after installing them. I also ran the motors at a slow speed to see if anything is touching or whatever. So I am at a loss as to why this is happening. Any thoughts!! Anyone !!

I suspect it has something to do with quality. I have Wemotech MF480 fans with hundreds of flights on them, with power levels well above 600 watts. No blade shedding. I have read of others pushing the MF480 to 800 watts, again with no problems. Quality fans don't come apart.

Apparently so, same thing happened tonite before our club meeting, Getting tired of replacing rotors. Checking around to fnd some other fan that will fit in their place. They are stock GWS 64mm fans.
