I was getting ready to toss my basement collection of odd wings and other sundry parts of deceased planes when I decided to use some of those parts to build a mongrel. The result is "The Mutt".
The wing is from a Tower Hobbies "Supersportster", the tail group is from one of my Twin Biz Jets (or an F86, not sure), the fan/motor/nacelles from an Sportjet and the rest is new built up balsa construction. The specs are:
48" WS, 376 sq.inch, symmetrical air foil
376 sq.inch, 17 oz/sq.ft wing load, AUW - 44 oz.
70 mm fan, HET2W, 3Sx4400 Zippy LiPo
49.2 amps, 522 watts, 221 w/lb, 27 oz. static, 0.61 t/w
CC 45 ESC, servos are two HS55's, one HS81, controls are A/R/E/T, BERG 4 channel rx
Calculated top speed is 64 MPH (draggy air frame)
The Mutt has been flown four times to date and she is a better flier than any of the planes that supplied parts. Very aerobatic and easy hand launch with flight times of 6 minutes. Time from junk pile to completion, about 15 hours

Nice Larry! Have done a couple of "that sort" myself. One that I still fly has plastic corro fuze, foam wings and I am running a speed 400 w/gear box and 9x6 prop.
Hell, you can fly forever on a 3S 2100 pack in your backyard. Clearly one of the ugliest planes I have ever made. LOL!!!! What the hay, it flies and thats all that matters.
Lucky...
