Default Capacitor inline with plug

I recently ran into this picture below. Can someone explain why you would do this? This is three 180UF 63V capacitors solider to deans plugs for EDF use.

It's so you can extend the wires from the battery to the ESC or just improve the performance of the ESC. It stops a harmonic current that can damage the ESC. Low ESR (equivalent series resistance) capacitors can deliver a high current for a short time reducing the instantaneous current on the battery.

I don't beleive I have ever seen this set up on any of the large EDFs I have looked at. hmmm.... Thanks for the bit of info.
