hi guys could you help me , just want to know what size fan i will need to fly a jet with a weight of about 4 to 6 lbs max and what size motor i will need to power it as im intending to market an A7 coursair the model use to be a prop jet once reviewed by simon delainey but this one will have glass fuz and nearly pre built.

Looks like you would require a 90mm fan for a plane that size.

For bungee launch you could use a 16 cell motor (750W) like the mega 22/20/3.

With retracts at 6lbs wt then a 25-30 cell motor in a 90mm fan like Mega 22/30/3 would do the trick.

Other Hacker or Kontronics motors would work also but usually at double the price!!

Of course I am bias towareds the Mega range have a look at my website www.gcmdesigns.co.uk

Also remember the airframe should be biult very light for EDF to get the performance.

For 90mm fans I always aim for 25-30 oz/sq foot with very strong high lift low drag wing

yeah you won't get anywhere without the hacker/kontronics moters becase they have high rpms for larger fans
