Ductlings prototype
 

I have been working on a concept for some time, along the lines of the Horten wing. I have a set of GWS 75 and ten cell pack. My D-WAV-II “D" for Ductlings series is approx 22oz. 30"wing span. I’m afraid it will not take off. My knowledge of duct fans is limited. I am curious about brushless and Li-ion battery technology; could this be the direction for me?

A 30oz. thrust would probably do the trick. What is out there that might fit the bill?

I don't know anything about the GWS75's. If it were me I'd use two MF480's, driven by HET typhoon 2W BL motors and 3S lipo's. With the simple ducting shown, that combination will deliver at least 17 oz per side.

Is there a place where I can get a breakdown on the nomenclature (the lingo) of what is being described to me. My knowledge on motors and batteries is limited, especially with the new Lipo's. What is an S2 or S3 mean? That king of stuff...

I would like to learn.... I could probably find this myself, but, a little help from my fiends could go a long way...

Here is the basic I know.... the 2 EDF 55 with speed 400 and FMA mini 20 with 8 500ar cell pack, they scream but, I don’t think this is enough.

The inlet is a 55mm ID making this smaller than most. After shopping around for some ideas in brushless motors and ESCs I legalized this in not for my pocket book yet. Before I begging to invest into the extreme I need to make this fly first. Is there something more moderate in price with a 55mm size and getting me the 30oz trust I might need?
