Default Rimfire / Multiplex Cularis

Was looking to make use of a Rimfire .10 35-30-1250 and was wondering if someone can tell me if this will work in the Multiplex Cularis? Thanks!

As long as you take, with all the grains of salt in Siberia, the suggested amp/watts limits for the Rimfire 35-30-1250 [35A/333W... get a grip!]. In my testing I found that the motor could cope with 25A... maybe a bit more... but it didn't like anything close to 30A, let alone 35A; at those levels it was unable to hold amp draw or RPM, and attempting to fry itself.

On 3s it did well enough with a 10x6 GWS HD, but a 10x7 APC E was a bit much, and an 11x5.5 APC E was over the top.

At 71g, and applying the 3W/g rule of thumb... 210W-220W is okay... maybe push it to 250W... but I wouldn't go much further.

Thanks Doc. I got the grains of salt in Siberia but the rest was sketchy LOL
So the Rimfire will work on the Cularis?

If 250W is enough, and you don't need bigger than a 10" prop... sure it will.... but I suspect that such a large plane might be better off with a bigger folder (12"-13"?)... and thus a bigger motor.

I see some reviews etc that indicate ~60oz weight and the stock powerplant is a HC3522-700 400W motor with a 12x6 folder.... I fear your Rimfire won't cut it.

I have this same motor in my Dust Devil.  I have it running a 10X7 prop on 3S lipo for about 290 watts and it does just fine.  I also run it with an 11X8 on 2S lipo for about 200 watts.

Should do fine in a Cularis with a 10X7 or perhaps an 11X6, but I have not tried the second one.
