Default Opinions please

I'm getting my G2 simulator this week, After I become comfortable with the sim I thought I would purchase the following: Hobbico Superstar EP ARF and a Futaba 4YF 4 channel radio. I want something that I can use a buddy box with and its my understanding that with the Hobbyzone challenger you can't. Would the Superstar and Futaba be a good combination for a beginner? I'd rather have a radio that I will be able to use with other planes as I progress. I also have looked at the Airtronics VG400 and the Hitec Flash 4X.
