Default PLEASE HELP

I just got in a 4 channel flight pack from GWS and i have never delt with electrics Before so I have no I dea whats going on... See the thing is I hooked up the ESC. to the motor <red to red, black to black> the I hooked the ESC up to the reciever... Then I put batts in the transmitter and pluged in the battery to the esc and I get this whistle and it sound like a turbine spooling up! But i have no movement of servo's or motor! Please help.

Not a lot to work with, but I'll give it a shot. Check all your polarities, especially batteries (no smoke so it's probably OK) and receiver (black to the back (or brown)). As for the turbine spooling up, beats the heck out of me. Post more details.

You plugged the ESC into the receiver backwards. I'd put money on it.
