Default RX Components

I asked this question in another forum, but thought I'd ask it here also.

I am trying to put together a radio system for a Sig Kadet EP. After reading the assembly book, they recomend a couple of receivers, the one I have chosen is the Hitec Electron 6-Channel FM Receiver Fut J/Hitec.

I have a Futaba 7C transmitter for my other planes. I am unfimilar with mixing radio gear other than knowing that Futaba and Hitec will work together. Trying to decide on the crystal I could buy a Futaba or Hitec for channel 15. Will Futaba crystal work best/OK with this set-up, or should I buy the Hitec crystal.

Is there a difference in size between the regular crystals and the one to fit the Micro receivers?

Also, the battery pack recommended is a 7 cell 1100mah with a tamiya plug, I don't seem to find that battery. There are batteries with higher mah numbers, with they work OK? the battery will also supply the electric motor. what will work best (give most flying time) and not be to heavy?

thanks

Hi,

The Hitec Electron 6 is a great receiver. Although the Electron 6 receiver will work with you Futaba transmitter you cannot use a Futaba crystal in your Hitec receiver so buy a Hitec dual conversion crystal for your Electron 6.

Micro receivers can be either single or dual conversion so there may be a difference between the crytal needed.

The 7-cell 1100mAh NiMH pack is a 2/3A size (17mm diameter , 28m height) that can be found at [link=http://flydma.com/batteries/batteries.asp?path1=batteries]Diversity Model Aircraft[/link] as the GP-1100 Ni-MH. Call Steve and he will make a pack with your Tamiya connector on it.
