Default Weight vs. Wind

How heavy does a plane need to be before breezy conditions wont throw it all around? My first plane was an 11 oz foamy and on windy days I could never have a nice relaxing glide around the field.

Default Weight vs. Wind

All RC planes get kicked around by the wind, regardless of weight. Of course, the bigger and heavier the better, but they all get tossed around.

Solution: Don't try to fly on windy days!

My Rule Of Thumb is never, ever try to fly anything that won't fly at least twice as fast as the current wind speed. (If it's blowing 20 mph, you better have a plane that will do at least 40 mph or there's a good chance it will get blown away or be very hard to control!)
