My slowstick isn't any fun in the wind. Theprop torque is aweful, and I look like an idiot with a 5-8mph wind. However, If it's dead calm It makes me look like a pro, and ican Rock and Roll with this thing. It has taken 8 or so flights to get the CofG located, and I'm comfortable with the flight, but ONLYin calm winds. My flights are limited to 15min before dark when the winds die down.Should I look at adifferent plane, or try to modify this one? (i'm running the 2 Cell lipo and 400 brushed motor. )
Today I tried to fly at lunch, and it wasn'thappening. If i giveit the juice it wants to loop, and is in a constant turn. It's afight not aflight.
Anything you guys recommend?

Set the COG to be a little nose heavy. That should improve wind penetration. Set your elevator trim to be nearly neutral. Too much up elevator trim can reduce overall flight speed and wind penetration. You might also need to add a few degrees of down and right motor thrust. Use shims to experiment with different amounts to find the best settings to reduce the left-turning torque effect and a tendency to pitch up with increased throttle. With the proper adjustments, you should be able to get good flight performance in 5-10 MPH winds and probably more than that.
When there is a wind blowing, try to fly directly into and away from the direction of the wind. That should reduce the effects of cross-wind gusts which can make handling difficult. Also, keep the model upwind of you and always land directly into the wind for a slow landing speed and to avoid cross winds when you are close to the ground. If you work with the wind a bit, your flights should be much more enjoyable. Good luck with your future flights!

You say the plane wants to loop. Is that in calm air or in wind?
In calm air, does the plane climb when you apply throttle? With that wing I would expect that it would.
If the plane wants to loop, just apply some down elevator as you apply throttle.
Where do you have the CGset relative to where the instructions suggest it should be? If you make it nose heavy you will end up trimming in some up elevator to support that heavy nose. When you apply power, that up elevator will cause the nose to come up and might even cause it to loop.
Where is your CG?

Thanks for the replies guys. Since posting this, i upgraded to a 3Cell 2600mah battery, and a park 480, turning an 11x4.7 prop. This might sound like over kill, but it's perfect. I never use full throttle, (since it would make with wing flutter). I can fly around much better with the aileron upgrade i installed, and and take offs at 1/3 throttlein the back yard are very scale looking. I can fly for 20+ minutes with this setup. I HIGHLYsuggest this upgrade.
