A tip for using these boards.

If you are going to write something long, don't write it here.

Do it in your e-mail editor or a wordprocessor. Make sure you save it every few mintues so if you system crashes you don't lose it all.

Then you can more easiliy edit and spell check. Then when you have it just right, you can copy and paste your post onto the board.

That is how I do it.

I hope you are going to post your experience on your first flights. I am eager to hear how it went.

Yeah, I've been dinged a few times by long-winded and carefully-worded posts. I take too long, the cookie times out or something, and I get "We're Sorry!... blah blah blah..."

Luckily, I use a web browser that retains what I wrote. I can simply hit the "Back" button on my browser to return to the reply window, copy what I wrote to the clipboard, back up to the forum page, reselect the thread, paste in my reply, then hit "OK." It sounds more complicated than it really is.

Congratulations on your success, DFalpha!

thanks!:D today a flew again. this time I was less timid. I did loop after loop and stall truns as well as a few chandelles. I only ran into trouble when I did a loew pass and pulled out to late. luckily only a broken wing and a miniscule slice out of the cabin!!! I love this thing!

Now, that is the kind of report I like to read.

Tomorrow, put the streamers on the wings.

You need skies for your plane. My friend put skies on his t-hawk. Really cool!

I am able to go flying every morning this week. Beautiful weather right now. It's great to get to fly so much.
All my models are small electric type and old timer slow flyers.
Next week will be with family. Both me and my wife have a large family. It will be good to see everyone.
Happy flying to you, and hope Santa brings you some neat new toys.

Damm you'r lucky john, it's blowing a gale around here and i haven't had a fly in over 5 weeks. but i have a Zagi on the way, so i might be doing a bit of sloping after Chrismas, after i get my advanced trainer going. any idea what a good replacement for an OS10 might be?

I will have pictures later today... Flight report for today

Wind speed was around 12-15 miles per hour but I launched anyways with the repairs in place. She climbed out as always and I took her through some turns in sport mode and made a nice landing some ways away. I attached a streamer for the tail because I couldn’t find he other real—probably dropped it … I launched again in pro mode but the wind pulled on the streamer and the plane couldn’t fly very well so I removed it. I did several nice flights one ending upside down because I lost range. The rest went fine but she didn’t want to loop… maybe the wind? Well I did some low passes and called it a day… I landed in the parking lot right in front of my Mom’s car (she drove me down to the field) she was pissed but altogether a fun flight on the 100th aniversery!

I love the aerobird.... I have been flying nitro for a long time, but bought a couple of aerobirds so I could teach my brother to fly.... His has survived more damage than any plane I have ever seen.. I killed mine when the wing folded over the lake and my brothers took a full speed nosedive into the side of a wall. I bought a couple more for us for Christmas. I found a guy out of Georgia that sells them for $100 and $10 for extra wings... If anyone knows of a better price let me know, I now have two nephews that want to learn to fly..

Do you have some clear packing tape, 5 min. epoxy, and? for your tool box.
What do you want for your second plane?

DFalpha 12-18-2003 09:51 AM

RE: DFalpha FIRST AEROBIRD FLIGHT.

I have a tool box packing tape and 60 minute epoxy but ill pick up some 5 minute today....mmm for my next plane I was thinking maybe GWS tiger moth or slow stick....

john 8750 12-18-2003 11:25 AM

RE: DFalpha FIRST AEROBIRD FLIGHT.

Either of those planes would be good. The tiger moth will fly very slow, the slow stick is also slow and a lot of fun, it's bigger than the moth.
I'm still laughing about your mom and her car, reminds me of my early days.
She should be proud of you, think of the things you are learning at a very young age.
