Yes another 'which plane question'
Hey im sorta new to the hobby i sometimes fly my brothers plane when its in the air (aerobird extreme).I want to know your opinion on these 3 planes they are-
Aerobird challenger(my brother used to have it) T-Hawk Sky scooter Pro. As i live in England please dont give me sites from America. Thanks for your help. |
RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
of those 3, I would reccomend the T-hawk. I have had the aerobird challenger, and its fun, especially the xport combat.. but having also flown a t-hawk a friend had, I would say its a better buy. flies a little better than the aerobird, comes with both an extra wing and an extra tail, and has real components that can be swapped onto your next plane. (everything on the aerobird is on one circuit board, if any part fails, the whole thing is worthless...) Like the aerobird, the thawk comes with everything you need to get flying right there in the box.
I really dont know much about the sky scooter, but it seems a bit more advanced... |
RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
I cant find the plane with the extra's in the uk[:@][:@]
Is there any other planes that are good beginners that you can think of? thanks for your help, again. |
RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
I have an Aerobird Challenger - Love it!
How good are you with the Xtreme? Do you want something like that or do you feel you are ready for something more advanced? I am going to give you two groups. One are RTF starter planes, like the Aerobird and the T-Hawk. The second are more advanced and more aerobatic planes, lke the Scooter. I don't have UK links but I am sure you can do a search and find the planes in the UK once you make a decision. Feel free to ask questions. READY TO FLY STARTER PLANES - Parkflyers No building - they practically fly right out of the box These also glide well so you can thermal soar with them under the right conditions. Aerobird Challenger - RTF Electric - $150 I started on an Aerobird RTF. I love it and recommend it highly I have over 300 between my original Aerobird and the newer AB Challenger. I also thermal and slope soar this plane. Flies well and stands up to hard landings. The add on fun accesories for night flying, air to air combat and drop module add to the fun! http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/prod...p?prod=HBZ3500 Review http://www.hobbyzonesports.com/Disco...ID=1289#Page01 Discussion Thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147621 Video http://www.parkflyers.com/html/aerobird_video.html Slow-V from Parkzone - $140 Best flown in still to under 5 mph breeze. RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
The aerobird xtreme is too fast for me so i want to get something slower, any sugestions?. ! think its between the T-hawk and the Challenger.
Thanks for all your help ! |
RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
Save the Sky Scooter or the Space Scooter for your next plane.
The T-Hawk is as good or better than the Challenger, BUT when you have a built in combat partner in your brother, how can you pass that up? Think Man! Blowing your brother out of the sky? Gotta do it! If your brother has an Xtreme, then you get the Challenger. Then both of you should pickup combat modules, drop modules and night fly modules. Get the Challenger! Get good in Pro Mode! Learn to use the elevator to sharpen the turns. Learn to use the throttle to help those turns be REALLY tight! Then send me a note and I will give you some tips on making the plane even more responsive! Work on things like going into a loop and rolling out at the top (Immelman turn I think, or is it a split S?) Tail stalls are great too. If he is coming up behind you, you start to loop. (I bet you the Challenger can loop tighter than the Xtreme.) He will try to follow you into the loop to stay behind you. Then you cut the power to hit the breaks and he flies right by (remember Top Gun?) You hit the throttle and nail him with a gun shot! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! This is not about flying, this is about fun and nothing will sharpen your flying skills like air to air combat!!!!! We are talking big time fun here! Which plane should you get? Are you kidding? He may be bigger and faster, but you are smaller and more agile. He may be able to out run you, but I bet you can out turn him! Turn and burn baby! Then there are the precision bombing runs! Set up a tub or a target circle on the ground! You are on bombing mission. He is fighter defense. You have to hit the tub and get away before he can shoot you down! Then reverse roles. Get some friends involved. Battle of Britton! 2 Xtremes as Bombers with a Challenger as fighter cover. Two Challenger fighters defend Britton. Nail those bombers! Remember, when they are carrying the drop module, they have no guns! If they hit the target, you lose and the Queen will be very annoyed! Then there is night flying. Have you ever gone night flying? Too cool for words! Like flying a ghost. You must try night flying! The Challenger flies great on the standard 6 cell pack. (I have 3) However for combat you definitely want the 7 cell packs ( I have 4) for the extra speed and acceleration. Blow him out of the sky! |
RE: Yes another 'which plane question'
