need help here
Hi guys I am looking for some advice here I have been flying 2 cycle for a bout 3 years at a local field up here and would like to get into electric flight, not necessarily indoor but at the fields around here. I am looking for a kit or ARF that is capable of most tricks but also docile if needed and can handle a bit of wind.
So what do Ii need motor, battery radio Please help me make a wise decision.. Thanks |

CL415: I got one word for ya - E-starter -, I flew wet-ones for 40+ years an let me tell ya, It's a whole new world sence I got into elc fly'in an has me gittie bout dumb-thum'in round just about where-ever I feel like it!!! your bub, scoooper

She'll handle a reg rec,servos etc, micro servos are only 10 bucks,an you'll probly want one for the alerons , (or not) SHE COME'S WITH A 400 OR 350 CAN (BRUSHED) MOTER all for 35 bucks I got a 480 and a cam prop, but I'm abit of a power nut, If you've ever flown a sig kadet you'll feel right at home,float kits are 10 bucks an d change floats too wheels in about 2 min flat, your bub, scoooper PS keep her nose heavy, don't do the reg CG'

OK scoooper there is so many aircrafts out ther and i want to by something good and with anought power and not need to upgrade it after a while, iknow not much about electrics and when you start talking about ,diferent batteries and 380 and 400 motors ????????? with the nitro its slap an engine on get cg right and away you went.
I was lookint a foamys but im a biulder and repaired most of the big crashes in the club up here, and would like to fly up here in the snow or in this cold weather i knopw thje batterie will not last a s long . Thanks |

CL415: The stock moter just fine, you'l be do'in rolls an inelmines, inverted (even on floats!) . theres a thead or post about a fella use'in floats in snow, anyhoo, I find any plane flys better with the Cg forward the aft as when you get her back you can move the cg by move'in the batt's(velcro in plane an on batt's) till you ger right, Keep your batt's in a wide-mouthed cheap plastic thremos till you need em! your bub. steve

aeajr thank you for the great links and thr time you spent putting them up in this reply , after talking around the forums i have purchased a AIRFOILZ the yak from GREAT HOBBIES IN EDMONTON FOR 69.00$ now i have to dress it up with the electronics, i am having a little trouble fing up here in Canada the right pars that is recomended for this plane without ordering throught the USA and paying the exchande and customs ?????

[img]hi my names manuel and im new to flying i bought a f27 b stryker as my first plane whithought nowing much about it and i crashed it braking the fusalage later i lerned more about planes so i bought a new air frame for the stryker and put it back in the box later my mom bought me a aero bird chalenger for my birth day present i flew it for abought 1 houre so far and i reely want to fly my striker i heard meny grate thinges abought it but its defenetly not a bigener plane and when i do fly it i want to be redy and not crash it again so dose eny body know how long shuld i fly me aero bird til im redy to fly my stryker again and is a aero bird chalenger to a f 27b stryker to big of a jump should i get some other plane instead before im redy for my stryker and which plane should i get next:eek:[/img]

You guys are talking about what's being sold in the ads with the brushed gear, I cannot even get a brushed motor at all of the LHS's, it's all brushless and if you can afford, lipo's. Save the money for the gear, the plane should be secondary. The rest of it, you already know about from gasland, it's really simple, plug and play, not alot of thought is necessary, that's one of the advantages of the e-flight gig.
You want more power, higher numbers on the motors, esc's and battery packs, the more the better unless you opt to go directly into 3d which are going to want you to weight it lighter and that's a different animal, but original request wasn't about that one, if you can spend the money on the good stuff, do so, you'll be using it for a long time. |
