I got a box of Vess props today. I mounted a 23A on the 65cc Echo I've been posting about. Smooooth! Top end 6800 RPM. I think It will break 7000 with the larger HDA carb. The difference is amazing. These props are only a couple bucks more than lesser quality props, I have in the box. The balance is spot on and the finish is perfect.

They are efficient props for sure. The one thing they lack is durability (they are too thin IMHO). I can run a XOAR for a whole season only having to clean up the leading edge and re-lacquer it occasionally. If a rock is picked up and hits the leading edge of the Vess, or at least the 23" size props I was running on my DA50, they shatter. I've had them do it on takeoff and had to try and milk it back around with almost a third of a blade missing. Talk about spooky and man did it do damage to the airframe. I've also had carbon fiber props do that and literally ripped the prop hub off the front of the engine and break the carb completely off because the shake was so violent. I've NEVER had a XOAR beechwood break on me other than in a crash.

Sounds good, I'll try some XOAR. I see my go to shopping location now has them. I have fallen victim to too many of the cheaper ones that are easily availabe from the big internet hobby retailers. Many were absolute junk. I have had particurarly bad luck with master airscrew.
