Does anyone have any experience with the Special Tuned Engines conversion kits for the OS 3500 or any other engine? I would like to know what their products and service is like.

First I have heard of them. I have a BGX sitting here needing converting to gas, too. I wonder how much oil it would take to keep the rod happy running on gas.

The research I've done would indicate a 20 to 1 oil ratio to keep the bushed rod alive. That's what the conversion people and Saito recommend.

Yes, 20 to 1 is 5% oil. That's 1/4 to 1/3 of what most glow fuel mixes are. Gasoline must have some lubricating properties. I've run glow motors on 10% oil mix with alcohol, but you have to needle them right. A touch lean and it's good bye rod bushing!
